According to Jay, "These paintings are attempts to bridge chance and control in my artwork. I pour and blend paint to produce unpredictable objects, which I collage into compositions that suggest motion and purpose, either biological or cosmological. This process allows me to create images I could not have intentionally pursued—somewhere between discovery and creation."
