Tower Grove Shop - Updates & Info

Dear Union Studio supporters, 

Sadly, our expansion on Tower Grove Avenue is not happening. 

No one is more surprised or disappointed by this than us. If you’ve been following along, you know that we’ve invested a lot of time, energy, and money into making this happen. We have publicly doubled down multiple times insisting that it’s definitely happening despite the delays. Each time we did this, we were under the impression things were progressing as planned, just at a slower pace than we would have like.  

It turns out, the owner of the building is struggling to finance the renovation, an issue that we were not aware of until very recently. 

It feels really disappointing, and frankly a little bit embarrassing, to have to share this news. But, there’s nothing we can do to change it, so here we are. 

Silver linings in all of this:

Our relationship with Loafers is as good and strong as ever. We love them and they love us. 

We’ve shifted gears before. The pandemic taught us how to think outside the box, to not be too attached to our plans if all signs show they just aren’t going to happen, so we know how to pivot. 

So what now you might ask. Well, we don’t know a lot, but here’s what we do know.

Union Studio, and the 150 local artists we work with, could use your support this holiday season. If you need to buy gifts, we hope you'll consider shopping with us. 

Our temporary shop on Tower Grove Ave will close for good on Christmas Eve. 

We are looking for a location in the city. It’s always been important to us to have a spot in the city and we truly never wanted to leave Tower Grove Avenue, but now we are looking for other options. Calling all building owners— do you need a nice, reliable tenant?
