• "Like many of my paintings, this one was painted 'en plein air', outdoors, working directly from life, along the bluffs near Klondike Nature Park. It was an overcast day, which lent a bit of atmosphere and moody muted cool tones to the scene. I painted looking almost straight up, focusing on capturing the texture in a close cropped composition, allowing the subject to be almost abstract."
