• "Like many of my paintings, this one was painted 'en plein air', outdoors, working directly from life, at Balduchi Vineyard in Augusta. The stormy sky and wet road were full of deep colors; it started raining quite hard mid-way through painting and I had to run for cover with my painting kit and finish the painting from a barn up the hill."
