• "A friend sent me a photo of children playing soccer at Tower Grove Park, knowing I would be drawn to their individuality-their expressions, clothing, ages, and quiet confidence. As I reflected on immigrant communities, belonging, and the hostility many face in the U.S., I began layering the image with other photographs: a cool hotel pool, dawn-lit tents suggesting both shelter and displacement, oversized golden flowers, and the front window of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant whose refugee owner shared his story with me through food and care. Together, these layers create an image of home, migration, memory, and the fragile space where comfort and uncertainty coexist."
