• "Like many of my paintings, this one was painted 'en plein air', outdoors, working directly from life, along the Missouri River Bottoms near Augusta. There had been heavy rains that morning and the fields were still partially flooded, creating a wonderful scene of reflections, texture, and atmosphere, with the little white farmhouse barely visible in the distance."
